[22p-C101-1] Development of statistical teaching material using LEDs as photo sensor device

We are developing an experimental device using an optical sensor based on the photovoltaic effect of LEDs. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials for the evaluation of reproducibility of experimental results using statistical methods as part of the development of teaching materials for experiments using this device. The teaching material consists of four items: (1) estimation and graphing of velocity, (2) statistical evaluation using uncertainty, (3) improvement of problems obtained from the results, and (4) investigation of familiar statistical processes. In addition, a questionnaire is used to survey the students' understanding of the need for information application skills and the relevance of statistics to research. In this report, we describe the educational effects and issues based on the results.
