We are developing an experimental device using an optical sensor that utilizes the photovoltaic effect of LEDs. Using the large amount of measurement data obtained by this experimental apparatus, we are developing teaching materials that enable students to devise various speed estimation methods and learn statistical evaluation. The ability to independently devise methods for analyzing and evaluating data leads to improved problem-solving and statistical evaluation skills. In other words, the development device using LEDs can provide "data-based inquiry teaching materials. In this report, we present the results of our search for a better method by considering various speed estimation methods and comparing the obtained estimation results through statistical evaluation.
