△ [22p-C105-1] Acoustically induced electric polarization of muscle tissues
Keywords:muscle tissue, piezoelectricity, acoustically induced electric polarization
In recent years, we have observed electric polarization of fibrous biological tissues by detecting electromagnetic signal (ASEM signal) induced by ultrasound. The origin of the acoustically induced polarization is thought to be fibrous proteins which are main components of fibrous biological tissues. On the other hand, muscle is a fibrous tissue composed mainly of myosin and actin. Ultrasound irradiation is thus expected to induce electric polarization in muscle. The purpose of this study is to clarify the property of acoustically induced polarization in muscle tissues.
