[22p-C106-2] Analysis of the spike-like signal in AFM frequency shift measurements for fluorine-substituted self-assembled monolayers
Keywords:Organic Thin Film, Self-assembled monolayer, Atomic force microscope
In the field of organic electronics, many studies on self-assembled membranes (SAMs) composed of molecules of a single species have been reported, and the structural changes and charge transfer in molecular films have attracted much attention. In the past, scanning tunneling microscopy was used to elucidate the molecular switch mechanism, which utilizes the change in current value due to mechanical structural changes. In the present study, we focused on a switching mechanism based on mechanical conformational change using a molecule with an electron-withdrawing group on its alkyl chain for atomic force microscopy (AFM), utilizing the interaction between the probe and the molecule.
