[22p-C302-13] Fiber network transmission of heralded single photon generated by ultrashort pulses

We conducted experiments on the transmission of heralded single photons using the optical fiber network in our university. Photon pairs were generated by spontaneous parametric down-conversion using a Ti:sapphire laser. One of the photon pairs was transmitted to the optical fiber network and the returned photon was detected in the same room. Another photon was detected without transmission, and the time correlation of the photon pairs was measured. The fiber network transmittance evaluated from the simultaneous detection efficiency of the photon pairs was consistent with that evaluated from continuous wave light over a wide range of transmission distances, and the validity of the measurement was confirmed.
