Light can be confined in the vicinity of a metal nanoparticle by localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), and hot carriers generate around the resonance sites through a relaxation process of LSPR. By taking advantage of these effects, we recently developed a photonic nanofabrication technique beyond the diffraction limit and applied it to preparation of chiral nanostructures using circularly polarized light (CPL). In the present study, we fabricated Ag nanostructures showing chiroptical responses on the basis of photochemical Ag deposition under CPL.
