We propose an AWG (arrayed-waveguide grating) wavelength selective reflector combined with half-folded Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) optical switches. The principle is to combine the high-resolution wavelength selectivity by an AWG and the low-power consumption optical switching by a reflection-type 1x2 MZI optical switch with TO phase shifter, which can be applied to wavelength tunable light sources. Thus, the selection for wavelength is achieved by turning on/off the switches.
