We have already reported that a well-organized ultra-thin film of lead iodide-based 2D organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite (OIHP) is formed by immersing the LB film of octadecyl amine (ODA) in an aqueous solution containing lead iodide. However, it is sometimes difficult to perform the intercalation for some species of metal halides. We assume that elemental substitutions by keeping film samples in gas phases are alternatives. Here we report on a trial of elemental substitution, where the lead iodide-based OIHP ultra-thin system is kept in HCl vapor to realize the halogen substitution.
