▲ [22p-P13-4] Investing the vertical distribution of orientation in the thin films of NR-P3HT prepared by the floating film transfer method
Keywords:NRP3HT, Orientation, Floating Film Transfer Method
In this work, large area (>40 cm2) oriented thin films of non-regiocontrolled poly(3-hexylthiophene) (NR-P3HT with varying thickness were prepared by FTM and the distribution of the orientation along the film thickness was investigated optically by the polarized absorption spectra and electronically by fabrication of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Fabrication of oriented thin films by FTM and OFETs in bottom-gate top contact device configuration were conducted . Extent of the orientation in thin films increases as a function of the polymer peaking at 6-7 % followed by a monotonous decrease. Interestingly, despite a large thickness variation of the film cast from the polymer solution consisting of 4 % (12 nm) and 9 % (47 nm), the estimated DR is almost similar (≈ 5.5). At the same time, the thinner film is relatively more ordered and crystalline as compared to its thicker film counterpart. This could be attributed to the vertical distribution in the orientation; the top layer is relatively less oriented as compared to that of the bottom layer.
