The optical beat note method can easily generate stable high-frequency signals and control the phase and is expected to be used for remote directional control using array antennas. We have been studying a method to remotely control the phase of the generated signal by XPM of SOAs installed near the antennas, but the dependence on the polarization state of the transmission line is an issue. In this study, we proposed a control method that uses bidirectional XPM with a single SOA for polarization-separated signals and experimentally confirmed its polarization-independent operation for transmitted signals.
