To utilize renewable energy in broader applications, high-power density energy storage such as supercapacitor is vital. Since supercapacitor capacity is strongly determined by its electrode-electrolyte interaction, a large-surface-area-to-volume-ratio materials like colloidal quantum dots (QDs), are preferred. Here we report a high-performance symmetric supercapacitor device by using ultrathin PbS QDs film as its electrodes. By adequate control between electronic conductivity and ions diffusion, this QDs nano-porous based supercapacitor demonstrate high energy density and high power density, competing with the other state-of-the-art supercapacitor materials.
