[23a-C206-2] Ultrafast lattice dynamics of MoTe2 under high-density electronic excitation

We investigate ultrafast lattice dynamics and the possibility of light-induced structural phase transition in MoTe2 under high-density femtosecond pulsed laser irradiation. It is found that the possible light-induced structural phase transition between semiconducting 2H and semi-metallic 1T' phases, which is predicted by theoretical calculation, is unlikely to occur solely even by dense electronic excitation with several tens of mJ/cm2. In the presentation, we will discuss and interpret the structural dynamics of MoTe2 obtained from the coherent phonon spectroscopy and the time-resolved electron diffraction measurement.
