We demonstrated cloaking in the visible light region, which has only been studied theoretically and computationally. A silver nanowire 20 μm-long with a diameter of 0.11 μm was fixed to the tip of an STM probe, and their surfaces were coated with a cloaking medium (MoO3) by vacuum deposition. The structure was illuminated by a 633 nm HeNe laser for microscopic observation, and the scattered light intensity was measured without and with cloaking. Consequently, it was found that cloaking was observed in the structure.
