Keywords:Raman scattering, Plasmonic enhancement

This study investigated a new enhanced Raman scattering phenomenon, namely, remote plasmonic enhanced Raman scattering, which does not require contact between the metallic nanostructure and the analyte molecule. We constructed a silica columnar structure on a silver nanoisland structure on a slide glass. As a result, we found that a Raman enhancement of the order of 107 can be obtained even though the distance between the silver nanostructure and the measurement molecule is more than 100 nm.
