In high-count measurements at synchrotron radiation facilities, there is a growing demand for the development of detectors with high detection efficiency and fast response. One of the candidates for such a detector is a plastic scintillator (PS). Although PS has excellent fast response, it has a problem of low detection efficiency for high energy radiation. To compensate for this disadvantage, there is a technique called heavy metal addition. In the present study, we attempted to develop a PS with both high luminous flux and high detection efficiency by employing a PS doped with CeO2 nanoparticles synthesized by a supercritical hydrothermal method.
