Heat recovery accounts for more than 50% of plastic waste recycling in Japan. If multiple lasers with different wavelengths could be used to cut and process each material separately, the automation of the sorting process could lead to an increase in the recycling rate. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristic absorption wavelengths of each type of waste by measuring the transmission spectrum of plastic waste, and to consider and study the appropriate combination of lasers for processing.
