[23p-C205-1] [INVITED] Single-shot imaging technique for monitoring ultrafast laser-matter interactions

In both scientific and industrial fields, high-speed imaging is a powerful tool for investigating ultrafast dynamic phenomena. To capture ultrafast events, especially sub-nanosecond timescales, time-resolved pump-probe imaging is utilized to produce the movies of target phenomena. Although this method achieves a high time resolution in the imaging, the technique can be applied to repetitive events and require much time to collect the information. Recently, some ultrafast single-shot imaging methods have been developed for capturing poorly-reproducible ultrafast phenomena. Sequentially timed all-optical mapping photography (STAMP) is an optical imaging technique that allows us to obtain motion pictures of faster phenomena with a femtosecond time resolution. Here I introduce the recent development of this technique: new optics and optical setup to improve the imaging performance and extend the timescales in the STAMP's single-shot image acquisition.
