本研究では，シリコンカンチレバー表面における反射型ポンプ・プローブ分光法を行い，表面に積層されているアルミニウムの電子を励起して得られる信号から，間接的に光圧および光熱効果を評価できることを示した．これは，アルミニウムに存在する約1.5 eVのフォトンで遷移可能な平行バンドが，カンチレバーの撓みに伴って歪みが加わることでバンド間遷移閾値が低下し，その結果，励起される電子密度が低下することに基づいている．
