On May 18th, 2021, the agenda declaring 2022 as the International Year of Glass (IYoG) was formally approved at the General Assembly of United Nations. International Commission of Glass (ICG) made big efforts for realizing the UN declaration of IYOG2022 collaborating with ICOM and CGA. Also in Japan, Japanese IYoG committee has been organized in December 2020, starting various activities on science, art, and outreach toward 2022. More than 30 events are now planned and scheduled in 2022 in Japan. International Closing Ceremony will be organized by Japan, on December 8 & 9th 2022 at the Hongo campus of University of Tokyo.
