[22p-D315-8] Circularly Polarized Light Generation from a Circular Metallic Hole by Electron Beam
Keywords:cathodoluminescence, metallic nanohole, surface plasmon
We control the circularly polarized light (CPL) emission from a circular hole in a metallic membrane using electron beam excitaion. The local emission from the metal hole and the transition radiation from the metal surface interfere and produce CPL, whose relative phase can be controll ed by the position of the electron beam. The measurement is performed by scanning transmission electron microscopy based cathodoluminescence apparatus, which enables nanoscale optical field mapping with a simultaneous angle- and wavelength- resolved CL signal acquisition.
