Electric field measurement is one of the most fundamental measurements in plasma diagnostics. In the vicinity of atmospheric pressure, coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering by infrared light detection and electric-field-induced second harmonic generation have been reported, but further improvement of sensitivity is desired. The new method presented here is a simple method for measuring visible light intensity, but it is much more sensitive than the above two methods. It was successfully measured in hydrogen and nitrogen atmospheres, and is expected to be developed into a method that can be widely used, including measurements in the atmosphere.
