To further improve the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of high-performance organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), it is currently essential to enhance their outcoupling efficiency (OCE). As a technique to realize it, the development of low-index charge transport layers is expected. In this study, a super-low-index porous hole transport layer, whose refractive index is 1.42 at 550 nm, is newly fabricated. Furthermore, by applying the layer to an OLED, 1.4-fold enhancements of the OCE and EQE are demonstrated.
