Optical phased array (OPA) is a non-mechanical beam steering device and is under intensive study due to its unique advantages of fast scanning speed, high reliability, high energy efficiency, compactness, and so on. On the other hand, previously, it was difficult to realize practical spatial resolution. In this work, we show that by locating the N antennas based on non-redundant array, we can realize a large number of resolvable points scaling with N2. We demonstrate the concept by a silicon OPA chip.
