△ [22p-E303-4] Surface-normal Stokes-vector receiver using metasurface
Keywords:Metasurface, Stokes-vector receiver, Optical communication
Stokes-vector receivers (SVRs), which can detect states of polarization of optical signals, are expected to be low-cost and high-capacity receivers in future optical access networks and data centers. In this paper, we propose a novel surface-normal SVR based on a compact metasurface. The single metasurface plays the roles of a 1x3 splitter, three PBSs with different polarization bases, and six focusing lenses. The metasurface is designed and fabricated on an SOQ substrate, and the Stokes vectors are successfully demodulated using the fabricated device.
