[22p-E305-7] Can Magnetic Force Control Technology be Applied to Minimally-invasive Cancer Therapy?
Keywords:cancer therapy, rotating magnetic field, superconducting magnets
We have been investigated minimally-invasive cancer therapy using magnetic fields. The greatest advantage of using magnetic fields in cancer therapy is that the movement of magnetic field-responsive drugs in the body can be controlled from outside the body. This is expected as non-invasive treatment with low side effects. However, it is not easy to guide and accumulate the magnetic field-responsive drug deep inside the body. This is because the magnetic field and field gradient essentially increase at the position near the magnetic field source. This presentation introduces an attempt to realize the induction and accumulation of drugs deep inside the body by controlling the magnetic force.
