Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion (IECF) device is known as compact neutron sources, and is expected to be applied to Non-destructive testing, Cancer treatment, and protein structure analysis. We have developed the linear IECF device which concentrates the plasma on the central coaxial line in a cylindrical chamber of about 100mm in outer diameter and 400mm in length, and observed the maximum neutron production rate of 5.8×106n/s. In this study, we will discuss the factors of the increase of the neutron production rate, and the performance evaluation and practicality for the application of the neutron source.
