In recent years, HFO1234yf, which is known for its low global warming potential, has been attracting attention as a gas insulating material from the viewpoint of environmental load reduction. In this study, we conducted long-term electrical immersion tests under the conditions of partial discharge (PD) generation in HFO and air on samples with metal/dielectric/gas/dielectric/metal structures, and compared the resin degradation due to PD exposure. It was confirmed that the erosion degradation of the surface of the specimens exposed to PD progressed with time in the same way under air and HFO, and that the erosion degradation progressed more quickly under HFO.
