The photothermal conversion effect by local plasmon resonance is expected to have wide-range applications, such as a micromixer and a cancer therapy. In this study, we examined the photothermal conversion effect of the gold semi-shell array, which is a gold nanostructure that covers a two-dimensional colloidal crystal, and CHROMASHINE® (Toyo Aluminium K.K.), which has Ag/SiO2/Al structure and shows both plasmonic color and interference color. The temperature changes of water under monochromatic laser illumination on the samples were examined.
