[23a-D315-6] Basic study of optical control microdroplet robot
Keywords:Optical, droplet robot, liquid-liquid phase change
We report on the potential application of micro droplets generated by laser irradiation to droplet robotics. We found that a micro droplet is generated and it moves spontaniously
when a laser beam is focused on the air layer near the reservoir, which is created by sandwiching an ethanol solution containing a small amount of polymeric liquid (PEG) between a gold substrate and a glass substrate. We consider that this phenomenon is due to the liquid-liquid phase change, and we have found the possibility of applying this phenomenon to micro-liquid robots that can transport fine particles.
