[23a-F307-9] Application of spectral determination method to beta- and gamma-ray spectra
Keywords:liquid scitillation spectra, gamma-ray spectra, spectral determination method
We developed a new nuclide determination method (SDM), which utilizes a whole spectral region. We applied the SDM to beta-ray and gamma-ray spectra measured with a liquid scintillation counter, NaI and Ge detectors. In LSC measurement three samples of 36Cs, 90Sr and 137Cs were used. In gamma-ray measurement, six gamma-ray standard sources of 137Cs, 22Na, 133Ba, 134Cs, 60Co and 152Eu were used. For the LSC spectra, the relative determination accuracy was less than 30% for 36Cl and 90Sr with concentration of 10-2 relative to 3x103 Bq of 137Cs. For the gamma-ray spectra, the relative accuracy was less than 20% for other nuclides with concentration of 10-2 relative to 104 Bq of 22Na and 60Co.
