Advances in miniaturization of electronics have led to the rise of millimeter-or-less biomedical and internet-of-things (IoT) devices. To resolve the issue of wirelessly powering these microdevices, we propose optical power transfer based on photovoltaic cells for powering biomedical and IoT devices. Expanding on our previous work, in this article we describe the proposed operation mode of the digital-based device and analog parts (oscillator) required to build the full circuit.
