[23p-E203-8] Physical properties of RE123 melt textured bulks with different crystal growth direction
Keywords:superconductivity
The bulks prepared by the Top-Seeded Melt Growth (TSMG) method, which is a common fabrication method for REBa2Cu3Oy(RE123) melt-textured bulks, has a-growth and c-growth regions that grow in the radial and sub-diagonal directions of the seed crystal. The microstructure and superconducting properties differ depending on the growth region. On the other hand, the Single-Direction Melt Growth (SDMG) method is characterized by the fact that the bulk consists of only a single crystal growth region, and homogeneous bulk can be grown with good reproducibility. In this study, we attempted to fabricate Dy123 melt-textured bulk consisting of a single crystal growth region grown in the a- and c-axis directions using the SDMG method, and evaluated its physical properties.
