All-solid-state thin-film lithium-ion batteries are expected to be used in IoT devices and IC chips. Au, Pt and Nb-doped SrTiO3 single crystals, which have low reactivity with cathode materials and high melting points, are used as substrates and current collectors in basic research. However, it is necessary for practical applications to use substrates that are less expensive and easier to process. In this study, we have demonstrated that LiCoO2 thin film can be crystallized on Al substrate and works as a cathode.
