Magneto-plasmonic phenomena in CoPt perpendicular magnetic films were investigated in polar Kerr excitation geometry. The surface plasmon resonances (SPRs) markedly enhanced the magneto-optical (MO) Kerr rotation angle. Moreover, the reflective intensity was drastically modulated by applying an external magnetic field at the SPR condition. The change in reflective intensity is attributed to an MO interference effect produced by the subwavelength magnetic domain structure.
