The superconducting hot electron bolometer mixer (HEBM) is a heterodyne mixer that is expected to operate at low noise above 2 THz. We have proposed a new HEBM structure using a magnetic material, and this time, we improved the yield and characteristics of the 2THz band waveguide type Ni-HEBM (WG-HEBM). The fabricated WG-HEBM showed a low noise characteristic of about 830 K (DSB) and an IF bandwidth of about 4 GHz at 2 THz.
