A light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) is a semiconductor-based chemical
imaging sensor. It can observe analyte concentrations in aqueous solutions in a spatially and temporally resolved manner. The lateral resolution of LAPS is realized by one or more light sources, while the LAPS chip is laterally unstructured. Different analyte concentrations can be observed by modifying the sensor surface. The addressability of LAPS makes it an ideal candidate for simultaneous analysis of multiple analytes by creating multiple microfluidic cells on the sensor surface. In this study, an LED-array based real-time LAPS is combined with 4x4 individual measurement cells and one common reference electrode. The aim is to investigate and improve the signal-to-noise ratio and the cross-talk between the measurement cells.
