▼ [24p-E307-3] Role of halide compound in n-type doping of CNT yarn for efficient flexible thermoelectric generators
Keywords:Carbon Nanotube (CNT), Halide Compound, Thermoelectric Generator
Carbon nanotube (CNT) yarns, which is known as a promising element for flexible thermoelectric (TE) applications, have shown excellent thermoelectric and mechanical properties. Several research groups have reported high TE performance using CNT while its instability of n-type doping in air has not been solved. Therefore, further investigation for efficient and stable n-type doping for CNT yarn is desirable. In the previous studies mainly carried out with CNT films, it has been reported that n-type CNT films doped with halide compounds have a significant increase in electrical conductivity and a good stability in air. However, these studies had not demonstrated how the halide compounds can dope CNT, and how the interaction between chemical compounds and CNT influences TE performance. Therefore, in this work, we have investigated the role of halide compound on n-type doping of CNT yarns using organic halide compound (Tetra-n-butylammonium halide, TBAX, X=I, Br, or Cl) through dipping technique. High TE performance, and stability in air have been achieved by the interaction between TBAX molecules with CNT yarns.
