A coherent Ising machine (CIM) has been studied as a physical computer solving optimization problems based on the Ising model, and the Potts model is known as an extended version of the Ising model. Previously, we proposed a coherent Potts machine (CPM) in which the phase-sensitive amplifier (PSA) in CIM is replaced by a multiple-PSA, and reported its basic oscillation characteristics. In this paper, we show that the proposed CPM can solve the color-coding problem, using simulation based a traveling-wave model.
