Targetting at next-generation high-harmonics driver sources, we develop an OPA system delivering few-cycle mid-infrared pulses in the 2 μm spectral region. The system is pumped by a commercial Yb:KGW laser system delivering 0.4 mJ pulse energy, pulse duration of 300 fs and a repetition rate as high as 100 kHz. In-line intrapulse difference frequency generation and subsequent OPA stages results in a broadband emission covering 1.8-2.5 μm, maximum pulse energy of 30 μJ, and compressed pulse duration of 22 fs.
