Barium titanate fine particles were prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis method using a mixed aqueous solution of barium hydroxide, titanium lactic acid complex, and sodium hydroxide as a basic starting material. The shape of the fine particles was changed depending on the type of reaction activator. When t-butylamine or t-butylamine was used, parallelepiped barium titanate fine particles was obtained.
