We have conducted time-resolved hole-burning spectroscopy on an isotopically purified 167Er3+:Y2SiO5 crystal, which is a promising quantum memory materials, to reveal the relaxation time of the hole spectrum. In addition, an atomic frequency comb (AFC) was fabricated by frequency-selective optical pumping, and an AFC memory protocol was demonstrated to store and read out light in the communication wavelength band.
