Filtration membranes used in water purification and sewage treatment require the reduction of non-specific adsorption of proteins on their surfaces. We have previously confirmed that the amount of protein adsorption can be reduced by half by terminating polyethylene glycol, which has an inhibitory effect on protein adhesion, onto vapor-deposited polymerized polyurea thin films that can be uniformly deposited on complex shapes. In this study, we analyzed the surface structure of the PEG-terminated polyurea films.
