Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) is a highly functional material with various properties such as light weight, high strength, low thermal expansion, and sustainability. The hierarchical structure of CNFs in CNF-based materials such as hydrogels, aerogels, and films has a great influence on the material properties, and thus the control of the orientation and hierarchical structure of CNFs is an important technology. Here, we will report on the electrophoretic/electrochemical control of CNF hierarchical structure and its various applications.
