Liquid crystals (LCs) exhibit excellence ability in nonlinear optical effects due to their controllability of molecular reorientation. We have previously reported that the irradiation of the oligothiophene-doped LCs can induce their molecular reorientation at a very low light intensity. However, the phenomena were investigated only for the incident light with a wavelength of 488 nm. Molecular reorientation behavior by irradiation with another wavelength provides a new insight for photonic applications. In this study, we evaluated the photoresponsive behavior of the dye-doped LCs by the incident laser beam at a wavelength of 445 nm, giving a higher optical absorption of the dye.
