Chromism is a change in the color or electronic state of a molecule caused by external stimuli. In this study, we aimed to clarify the thermoelectric properties of an overcrowded ethylene molecule that exhibit chromism by conformational isomerization to external stimuli. To clarify the thermoelectric property at the single molecule level, the single-molecule junction was produced between small Au electrodes using the break junction method, and the thermopower was measured. The results showed that the thermoelectric properties differed depending on chromism, i.e., conformational isomerization of molecules.
