[26a-P04-11] Influences of elements and thermal properties on surface modification of polymer substrates by atomic hydrogen annealing
Keywords:atomic hydrogen, polymer substrate, surface modification
Surface treatment using atomic hydrogen generated by decomposing hydrogen gas on a heated catalyst (W mesh) (atomic hydrogen annealing: AHA) has been investigated. In this study, the reaction between polymer materials and atomic hydrogen was investigated from the changes in surface morphology of various polymer substrates by AHA.
It was found that the change in surface morphology by AHA was dominated by the constituent elements rather than the thermal properties (Tg, Tm) of the polymer substrate, and depended on the chemical reactivity with atomic hydrogen (reduction and removal of halogen atoms).
