[26p-E105-4] Compositional Dependence of the Structural Transition of Au-Ga Alloy in Molten Ga Invastigated by Variable-Temperature AFM
Keywords:AFM, liquid metal
The structural transition of Au-Ga alloy in molten Ga was observed by qPlus AFM under temperature controlled conditions. As a result of variable-temperature AFM analysis in a temperature range of 26 to 50 °C using a sample with an Au composition of about 0.05 %, the angular crystals changed to rounded shapes as the temperature increased, which is called roughening transition. On the other hand, in the sample with a large Au composition (about 0.23%), the crystals remained angular even when heated to 60 °C. This result suggests the composition dependence of the roughening transition temperature.
