In 2012, a novel transistor, distar, was developed, which consists of a Si solar cell and high-power LEDs tied together and facing each other. This new device opened up applications for solar cells beyond photovoltaics. In this study, the authors have succeeded in their new attempts to create a prototype perovskite distar that uses perovskite solar cell instead of Si solar cell.
