[15a-D704-8] Solute Concentration Distribution Uniformity near Side Part of Solid-Liquid Interface under Imposition of Current and Magnetic Field

The mass transfer is often the rate-determining step for solid-liquid chemical reactions. To efficiently enhance the mass transfer, the flow excitation in the vicinity of the solid-liquid interface has been proposed. Regarding this method, the previous research found that by superimposing a current with a uniform magnetic field, a microscopic flow was excited near the solid-liquid interface. Because the current distribution was non-uniform near the side parts of the solid-liquid interface under that experimental condition, a non-uniform solute concentration distribution took place near the side parts. However, whether the microscopic flow could suppress the non-uniform solute concentration distribution near the side parts of the solid-liquid interface or not was unknown. To clarify this, this research evaluated the solute concentration distribution uniformity near the left part of the solid-liquid interface with the microscopic flow excitation. The results found that by exciting the microscopic flow, the non-uniform solute concentration distribution was suppressed.
