[15a-PA01-5] Elucidation of growth mechanism of single-walled carbon nanotubes by in situ XAFS analysis: Comparison of Ir and Pt catalysts
Keywords:carbon nanotube, XAFS, CVD
Understanding the growth mechanism of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is important for structural control, and in situ measurements are essential to determine the state of the catalyst during SWCNT formation. Many in-situ measurements of SWCNT growth from iron-group catalysts have been performed so far, but there are few reports of in-situ measurements of SWCNT growth from platinum-group catalysts. In this study, we performed in-situ XAFS measurements on Ir and Pt, which have been confirmed to grow SWCNTs with platinum group catalysts, and investigated the growth mechanism.
